Meet the PC Design Team - Part Two

Meet the PC Team! Next in line for the Pink Chicken team spotlight is Christina, another one of my beloved co-workers. I’m so grateful for her hard work, great attitude and terrific ideas. I already knew that we shared a deep love of summer & gummy bears.   But I loved learning about her fabulous Colombian grandma, and reading about her evening runs makes me feel like lacing up my shoes to join her. Check out what inspires her below & enjoy! Christina Field Associate Designer christina   When I procrastinate, I...organize my closet! Sometimes I find things that inspire a design, or just make me feel nostalgic for the memories that were made in certain outfits. I arrange it all by color, separated into categories (separates, dresses, etc.) When I was a girl, I was fascinated with rummaging through my grandmother’s closet. She was from Bogota, Colombia.  My sister and I would spend every summer with her, our abuelita, when we were little. Her collection of fashion was a capsule of both time and culture, combining decades of international style. Mixing and matching between colors and eras, no combination was safe from my imagination. She was the best! christina playing dress-up w-gma   Haribo Gummi Bears...always make me happy! The littlest things can really brighten my day. Gummis do the trick. haribo gummy bears   I can't stop listening to...Guster, a band that I’ve loved since high school. They have such a unique sound. During live shows the percussionist plays the bongos and cymbals using his bare hands! I can really connect to their lyrics because they have such a deep connection to life and love. Belting out their songs is one of my favorite things to do! (See favorite autographed poster below!) guster   As a kid, my all-time favorite outfit was...a pale pink knit romper cinched at the waist and paired with socks and ballet flats. I remember loving how comfortable it was. I still absolutely love rompers and as an adult one of my favorite outfits is an army green wool romper from J. Crew cinched at the waist paired with classic Frye campus boots. christina circa 1990   If I need inspiration, I...go for a run. Running has always been a huge part of my life. I ran cross-country competitively in high school and college and still love to race. I love to run at twilight on the Riverwalk in New Jersey right along the Hudson River. The view of New York all lit up and glowing is amazing. Coco Chanel said it best: "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." I also love the blog Ohsolovelyvintage.blogspot.com. I love their style and share their same passions for sewing, traveling and vintage fashion and decor from the '50s and '60s. The bloggers are 2 friends from Canada who own a vintage boutique, Rhymes with Orange. erin_park_2motor_inn_vintage   Today, I'm...so happy that there's still a month of summer left! I love the feeling of being sunkissed and wearing flip flops with any outfit. i've always enjoyed swimming and being at the beach. Nothing beats eating seafood (especially king crab legs) and grilling outside with family and friends!
