LULIE WALLACE

Thrilled when Charleston artist Lulie Wallace reached out to us!   We have admired her work from a far and loved
the idea of collaborating together!   This new momma of a baby girl loved the idea of being able to dress her
daughter in a print she created!   So we are thrilled to announce this Fall, Lulie did a couple of beautiful print
for us in a botanical theme . . . A whimsical potted plant print in 2 color combos and beautiful and sophisticated
butterfly print.

Painter Lulie Wallace is best known for her use of vibrant colors, unique floral compositions, and cheerful patterns with quirky details.
Her signature mix-and-match prints feature notes of whimsy, and were all hand-painted in her studio in Charleston, South Carolina.
Get to know her a little better:

Q:  When did you start painting?
I remember sitting next to my mom at our breakfast room table when I was little.
She painted little nursery scenes for friends when they had a baby and I'd sit next to her sketching, and playing with
watercolors!  I ended up majoring in art at College of Charleston and started painting right out of school.

Q:  where do you get your inspiration?
I really am inspired by the people I work around!  I work out of a space with three other lovely who are super inspiring!
My best friend works with me and does graphic design for my business and her creativity is also super inspiring!
It's definitely energizing to be around talented individuals!

Q:  how has having a daughter changed your life?
So many ways...I definitely have a new respect for women, I can tell
you that!  Also, I think it has been really great for my art because I
take a breather to focus on something else I now love.  I used to
work until 5:30, come home, think about work while at home or out
and about, and then go to sleep.  Now, my time outside of the
studio is focused on my tiny person and work time is work time.  It's tiring and refreshing all at the same time

Q:  what do you love about living in Charleston?
I love our friends here first and foremost.  I love the walkability of the city.
There are so many amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and bakeries!
I love being able to walk out of your front door, grab something delicious with Edy in the stroller, or pop by the farmer's market on Saturdays.
